Bobby Smyrniotis is a former Canadian soccer player and is currently the head coach of the three-time champion, Forge FC, of the Canadian Premier League (CPL). He is the first manager to qualify a CPL club to the CONCACAF Champions League. Smyrniotis began his coaching career in 2003 within the academy system at 46-time Greek champions, Olympiacos FC. He later co-founded Sigma FC, a soccer academy based in Mississauga, Ontario, where he was also the head coach from 2005-2018. While at Sigma FC, Smyrniotis developed players that would go on to have successful careers on both the international stage and in top leagues across the world, including Cyle Larin, Richie Laryea, Kwame Awuah, Kyle Bekker, and Emery Welshman. In October 2018, Smyrniotis became the first head coach and technical director of Forge FC, where he has led the club to back-to-back CPL championships. In October 2022, Forge FC won their third CPL title. He has received a Master of Science degree in Sports Management from the University of Louisville and a Specialized Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology & Health Science from York University.
